Welcome to Cornish Earth
The aim of this project is to mend our soil and in turn mend our eco-systems. It wishes to recognise and support Cornish food producers who are doing this through a journey of regenerative agricultural practices.
Regenerative agriculture increases nutrient density in food due to improved soil health through affiliated growing strategies.
Enhanced nutrition is one of the many benefits that this system offers. It also rehabilitates the land, enhances biodiversity, increases soil water retention and drainage, stops soil erosion, stores carbon, reduces the need for chemicals and sets up the conditions for more resilient crops, to name a few.
Cornish Earth is working with farmers interested in building resilient businesses and practices that are specific to their unique areas of land. We do this through guidance and support to implement a progression of steps and practices that build on one another over time.
To identify these producers a Cornish Earth Certification is starting to roll out in Cornwall allowing buyers to recognise produce with increased nutrition in mind and to support regenerative farming practices.

The 5 main things Cornish Earth hopes to achieve;
1) Increased nutrition in our food
2) Increased community resilience to changes that come
3) Sequestering carbon in the ground
4) Repairing land and the ecology
5) Reducing food miles
The 5 main components we are using to achieve this are;
1) Supporting farmers on their journey to regenerative agriculture
2) Informing the public and encouraging them to buy local and regenerative
3) Establishing more local selling points/direct selling for food producers
4) Assisting low-income families to buy regenerative produce
5) Awarding Cornish Earth certification so that regenerative producers can be easily recognised
This Project is run and supported by the Cornwall Eco Project Resource Centre
